The Award-Winning Spirits of French Lick Expands Distribution into Kentucky, Names River City as Their Distributor Partner.
French Lick, Indiana- February 7, 2019- The award-winning Spirits of French Lick is pleased to announce their distribution expansion into the Kentucky Market, with plans to expand into additional markets throughout 2019. The distillery has named Louisville based, River City Distributing Co. as their distributing partner. The Spirits of French Lick, located in Orange County Indiana, has been fermenting, distilling, and barreling bourbon, as well as other whiskies since, it began operations in April of 2016. The distillery, in West Baden, is an outgrowth of the French Lick Winery that focuses on four pillars of distilling, bourbon, brandy, botanical spirits, and American whiskey. The Spirits of French Lick pays tribute to the many distilleries that once dotted the southern hills of Indiana pre-prohibition and focuses on using the best practices of those early times in balance with the improved methods of today. The spirits are crafted from the finest agricultural products that can be grown or sourced. Their distilling philosophy is simple. It is a balance between the distiller’s art and the contribution of the barrel, time, and patience. River City, located in Southwest Louisville was founded in 1987 and houses a 150, 000 square foot state of the art facility. By focusing on the needs of their customers and the dynamics of the Kentucky market they came to the realization that many customers were being underserved when it came to unique, quality wine and craft spirits. With this in mind River City launched their Wine & Spirits division in 2011. This addition to their portfolio has allowed them to offer a complete selection of beverage alcohol selections for all consumers. River City will be adding the Lee Sinclair Four Grain Bourbon as well as The Wheater to their spirits portfolio. In addition to, River City will be launching wines from the French Lick Winery, including the signature French Lick Red, French Lick White, and Pretty in Pink as well as Risqué Rhubarb, Blackberry, and Cherry pie.
Distribution is to begin February 1st, 2019 on the wine and spirits. The distribution plan will take place in multiple phases. Phase one will be focused on expanding distribution in the Walmart, Meijer, Kroger, and Target chains. Phase two will concentrate on distribution within the Total Wine Company locations as well as Liquor Barn. Phase three will be a heavy focus on on-premise with a focus on the bars and restaurants in the Louisville area.
