The Winery

white-wine-glasses.jpg

French Lick Winery opened for business in 1995 in the Beechwood Mansion in French Lick, just down the road from its current location. As the winery grew and began to produce more varieties, it became evident that we needed more room. In 2004 we began renovations on a spacious section of the Kimball Piano factory and in 2005 we opened French Lick Winery along with the Vintage Café, and large gift shop. Large glass windows line one wall and allow for comfortable viewing of our production area.

The tasting bar is a prominent feature in the building. Trained wine servers lead our guests through the expansive list of over 30 different wines, ranging from dry to sweet, fortified and sparkling.

You may try as many of these wines as you’d like for a tasting price of only $6!

Please keep in mind that selections are subject to change based on seasonal availability. We also offer flights at the table as well as wine slushies (seasonally) and a craft cocktail bar.

Heaven’s View Vineyard

Heaven’s View is the name of our vineyard and it sits on Kim Doty’s family farm.  Kim’s family farm was designated a Hoosier Homestead farm in 2015 having been in her family for 128 years.  The property was passed down to Kim in 2000 from her mother.  She is the 5th generation of women in her family to own the land.  The farm has passed through women for the last 5 generations and will be passed to Aaron and Nick as the 6th generation to own it. It will stay in the family as one of Nick’s three daughters will continue the tradition as the 7th generation.

The farm is located in Rutherford Township in Martin County.  Cattle and swine were raised on the crops grown on the 515 acres of tillable soil and wooded areas.  It is now used to grow grapes and grains for the winery and distillery.  The 8-acre vineyard was planted in 1997 on the highest spot on the farm overlooking the east fork of the White River, on one of the highest elevations in Martin County.   Traminette, Noiret, Steuben, Catawba, Cayuga White, and Chambourcin are some of our varietals growing there.
